Two years ago, during one of the hardest and most honest seasons of my life, God placed candles on my heart in a way I could not ignore. What started as a quiet nudge became a clear assignment: create something that helps people feel seen, loved, and reminded of their own light.

My first candle line, Thick and Lit, was created for curvy women like me who deserved to feel celebrated, desired, and confident in their own skin. As I continued on my inward journey, I realized something deeper: we should be celebrating ourselves every single day, in every season, not just when things look or feel “perfect.” That revelation is where Celebrate YOU Candle Co. was born.

Celebrate YOU Candle Co. is more than a candle brand; it is a reminder and a safe space for YOU. Each candle is created to whisper to you that you are worthy of love, rest, softness, joy, and grace right now. I wanted to build something that encourages you to honor yourself in both the challenging and beautiful moments, because your value does not rise and fall with your circumstances.

Stepping out on faith, I began taking Celebrate YOU into the world, just 5 months ago, vending at powerful spaces like the 17th Annual Black Women’s Wellness Convention and the Black Girl Art Show at Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois. I have met amazing people who pour back into me the same love and light I pour into every candle.​

Because of this journey, my candles now have a home on the shelves of Honey and Hue Bookstore in Chicago, Illinois, where they sit among stories, voices, and art that also celebrate who we are.

 

Standing in these spaces, seeing my purpose touch real people, reminds me that I am truly blessed to be here, in this season, doing what God called me to do.
